MEMBERSHIP
The
Texas Head Start Association (THSA) is committed
to providing strong leadership and advocacy to
promote quality programs and services for the
Head Start community. The Association's
membership is comprised of Head Start directors,
staff, parents, and friends.
Annual THSA membership assists us in our
continuing goal of providing a powerful voice
for Texas low-income children and their
families. The families of Head Start greatly
benefit from the wide spectrum of services and
quality education that each program supplies.
Your membership in the Texas Head Start
Association entitles you to:
Membership with the Region VI Head Start
Association
Reduced registration fee for the state
conference
Subscription to the association state newsletter
Scholarships from the national, regional and
Texas associations.
Vote for candidates for the THSA Board of
Directors and for THSA officers.
Please ensure your voice is heard by

SCHOLARSHIPS ~ $1,500 Each
THSA Scholarships are made available to
deserving individuals who can benefit and
achieve their goal of acquiring a higher
education.
Encourage all of
our Head Start Family to become members of the
Texas Head Start Association, so that they can
be eligible to apply for a scholarship. All
application must be received by Friday, May 14,
2010.

AWARDS ~
$1,000 Each
Nominate a Head Start parent who has been an
active volunteer throughout the school
year and has shown strides made towards becoming
self-sufficient for the $1,000 award
THSA Parent of The Year
Nominate a Head Start father who
has been an active volunteer at their child's
center throughout the school year for
the $1,000 award
THSA Father of The Year.
Nominate any past or present
Texas Head Start parent or staff person who is
continuing their involvement in Head Start
and/or community programs, has exemplified the
goals and philosophies of Head Start and has
achieved exceptional personal goals. Further
criteria and requirements are available on the
$1,000
THSA Presidential Achievement Award.
