ERSEA Summit I: Smooth Entry Masterclass
January 23-24, 2025 | El Paso, TX
Texas Head Start Association (TXHSA), H.G. Jones & Associates (HGJA), ESC Region 19 Head Start, state, local, and corporate partners are working together to promote and deliver one of a series of Head Start “Smooth Entry Texas” Masterclasses. These professional development and training sessions aim to assist programs in identifying and analyzing the root causes of under-enrollment. Participants will explore strategic action planning to achieve ERSEA goals and develop targeted strategies to reduce under-enrollment challenges throughout Texas and nationally.

This two-day Masterclass analyzes current trends impacting local programming and critical data needed to improve Eligibility and Admission systems within Head Start and Early Head Start programs. It is designed to strengthen leaders’ and managers’ knowledge, and the skills required to understand and implement the Head Start Act, Final Rules, performance standards, other federal, state, and local mandates, and industry best practices. We are encouraging Head Start teams to join us in this exciting solution-centered event, which will create a culture focusing on performance and winning.

ERSEA Level One Course: Understanding the Fundamentals
March 12-13, 2025 | San Antonio, TX
The TXHSA has collaborated with H.G. Jones & Associates to strengthen participants' knowledge and skills for meeting the requirements outlined in Part 1302 of the federal regulations regarding eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance (ERSEA) in Head Start. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the ERSEA regulations and the impact of the Head Start Act on eligibility and accessibility issues, such as in the cases of Homeless and Over-income families.

ERSEA Level Two Course: Implementing the Requirements
May 7-8, 2025 | Houston, TX
The TXHSA has collaborated with H.G. Jones & Associates to build on the basics established in Level One. It develops a further understanding of the regulations, provides ideas for implementation, and places an emphasis on systems management. Level Two focuses on best practices in implementation and management that make ERSEA processes successful.

ERSEA Level Three Course: Managing the Process
June 23-24, 2025 | South Padre Island, TX
The TXHSA has collaborated with H.G. Jones & Associates to build on Levels One and Two and is designed to assist programs to better track, monitor, and evaluate the overall ERSEA process and the systems that support it.

ERSEA Review and Exam: Successful Completion of Core Competencies
September 11-12, 2025 | Austin, TX
The ERSEA Certification Review and Exam is a day-and-a-half session to prepare each participant for the comprehensive ERSEA Certification Exam. The Exam includes 100 questions designed to test each participant's skills, knowledge, and understanding of the ERSEA process. Upon satisfactory completion of the Certification process, the ERSEA Certification will be good for one (1) year. After one year, it must be renewed by the completion of a ERSEA Re-Certification training and successful completion of the Re-Certification exam.
